How are your preparations going for the Port of Antwerp Night Marathon? Keep it going, because we are setting everything up for our very first edition on Saturday 12th September.

By making the necessary adjustments and by constantly responding to current events, we want to make sure this event can take place in a safe manner. For instance, the relay marathon will be postponed by one year and the focus will shift to the full and half marathon. The starting procedure will also be changed taking into account social distancing measures.

"I am very much looking forward to running the first edition of this unique marathon together with you in my city. After the severe crisis of the last months, our marathon will have an exceptional character: for many it will be the first major sporting event they can take part in again. I hope that this can provide extra motivation for everybody to keep moving, each at their own pace," says mayor Bart De Wever. "It goes without saying that health and safety go hand in hand for the Antwerp marathon. Only that way can we make it a true celebration of sports for all of us."
